Rosie was born sometime in June, 1999. She came to me from the local cages of the ASPCA in Portland, Oregon. I was looking at the dogs, nothing particular in mind, when a hyper puppy jumped around his jail cell and drew my attention. The attendant told me he was already spoken for but there was another imp nestled at the back wall, just looking at me. I started walking away and I heard a bark. I turned back to see this little ball of fur staring me down. I asked the attendant to bring her out and we went to the special room for clients to meet the mutts.

I sat down and did the "here girl" noises. She came to me, grasped my hand in her mouth and wouldn't let go. I looked at the attendant, she said, "I guess your dog found you." And so I arranged to bring her home in a few days, after they checked me out.

First Blog or The day I broke down and entered the fray.

Somehow I never thought I'd be one of those who posts these unknown and who-the-hell-cares about-them: blogs.

However, bored, out in the woods, yes, living in a yurt (that's right, a yurt) - with a few books and a laptop with a rather slower connection to cyber space, there was my very own Google with the suggestion that I enter the blogging world. Boredom's outlet, a few silly forms later, there it is, all set up and ready to go. Just like the other bazillion mad people speaking out everywhere. Still, its taking up some time and it appears that I'm even enjoying myself.

So here I am folks. My first blog and my first blog entry. Yum. Ice Cream.
